Congratulations to Gaute Lambertsen

On the behalf of the Norwegian Aikido Federation and on the behalf of the Technical Committee , I would like to congratulate Gaute Lambertsen with his 6th Dan promotion in the art of Aikido. The promotion was given today by Doshu Moriteru Ueshiba, at the Aikikai Hombu Dojo Kagami Biraki in Tokyo.

Gaute Lambertsen started Aikido at Oslo University around 1991, after having practiced Karate for some years. In 1996, he went to Japan to study Aikido and to work. For the first ten years, he lived in Kyoto where he trained at the Kyoto Budo Center. From 2004, he joined Yoko Okamoto Sensei’s Dojo. In 2005, he moved to Tokyo, where he joined Aikikai Hombu Dojo. He trained with several Hombu teachers, especially Doshu Mortiteru Ueshiba, Miyamoto sensei, Yasuno sensei and Osawa sensei. He also taught Aikido classes in Seizankai, a group led by Miyamoto Sensei.

We are very happy to have Gaute living and teaching here in Norway as a respected Shidoin (certified national instructor).
